What are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are a totally new way to extend the length and thickness of your
eyelashes. They are applied on a hair-by-hair basis to your own lashes for a totally natural
look. It is a very enhancing beauty service and you do NOT need to use Mascara while
wearing these Eyelash Extensions. It is a very careful and intense service that requires skill
and precision. Once applied, these lashes are so natural looking it is often extremely difficult
to tell even up close that you have extensions on. You wake up every morning with fabulous
lashes!
How long do they last?
It varies from client to client. The Eyelash Extensions will stay on your lashes for your
remaining natural lash life; we normally lose one eyelash everyday. We also grow a new lash
to replace the one that fell out. These lashes can stay on up to 90 days with proper after care
and with monthly maintenance. However, general after care will affect how long the
extensions last.
How often should I get touch-ups?
We recommend getting a touch up every two to four weeks. Again, this may vary from client
to client due to your natural lash cycle as well as overall needs. Touch ups generally take a
short time and are relatively inexpensive.
How do I care for my Eyelash Extensions?
Following these important after-care instructions will aid in extending the life of your lash
extensions. The first 48 hours following your application are most crucial. Care must be
taken not to rub your eyes, pull your lashes, or scratch. Also, any cleansers and cosmetics
containing glycols and carbonate can loosen the bond of the lash extensions. In the shower,
you should avoid direct water spray on your extensions, do not use a steam bath, swim, or
wash your face directly with hot water during your initial 48 hours post application.
-Do not use an eyelash curler. This may cause the extension and your natural lash to fall out
prematurely. Besides that, you are going to have fabulous lashes and won't need to curl
them.
-Do not rub your eyes or lashes when washing your face, gently cleanse around the eye
region with a wash cloth or fingers.
-Do not pull on your lash extensions, it may cause your natural lash to fall out.
-We also retail an After-Care kit that Novalash created. NovaLash's specially formulated
mascara and eye makeup remover contain no solvents, and will ensure that you are properly
caring for your extensions at home. With all the time and effort you have invested into your
lashes, you want to be sure that you're not going home and dissolving the glue with your own
products.
How long does the application process take?
Plan to set aside two hours for your full-set application and one hour for your touch-up
appointment. Many of my clients fall asleep during this procedure... its your time to relax!
Is there anything I should do in preparation for my appointment?
Yes. Please remove all eye makeup before your appointment. Be sure to use a mild, oil-free
remover/cleanser.
Do the Extensions damage my natural Eyelashes?
No, not at all! The most important thing is to make sure you are having them applied by a
highly trained and certified extensionist. The Lash adhesive is physician formulated and is
the only US AEWCA approved, pharmaceutical grade lash adhesive on the market. It is also
made in the USA in accordance with FDA recommendations for formaldehyde content. The
adhesive dries very soft on lashes, allowing the lashes to stay flexible and bouncy just like
your own lashes. The Eyelash Extensions will adhere to your natural lashes softly and
comfortably while not damaging your natural lashes or causing the natural lashes to fall out,
you must not try to remove the Eyelash Extensions on your own.
Can the Extensions be removed?
Yes, they can easily be removed by your eyelash extensionist. Please do not attempt to
remove any lashes on your own as you could damage your natural lashes this way.
How soon before my special event can I get my lashes done?
We recommend at least 2 days before your scheduled event. As with any beauty enhancing
treatment, it may take time to adjust to your new look.
